Ruth Christine was born on July 11, 1921 in Proctor, MN. She graduated from Meadowlands High School, attended Hibbing Junior College and then graduated with a degree in Library Science from the University of Minnesota. She spent most of her career in the Minneapolis Library System and retired as Chief of Community Libraries after 41 years of service.
Ruth Christine, born of Norwegian parents, embraced her Norwegian Heritage and often included Norway in her world travels. She was an active member of Mindekirken for many years, a Bronze Kroneklubben donor at Vesterheim Museum, and an active supporter of the arts.
