Jo Ann Bray, 85, of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. She was born on May 30, 1931, in Tokio, Texas, to the late Carl and Myrtle (Warren) Ballard. Mrs. Bray married Dan Bray on July 10, 1948, in Lubbock, Texas. Together they shared 67 years of marriage. Mrs. Bray graduated from Texas Tech University and taught school for LISD for 23 years. She was a devout Christian, precious wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family was everything to her, and she was everything to her family. She would always show this through compassion, encouragement and positivity. She will be missed by all who knew her. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her mother and father, Carl and Myrtle Ballard; brothers, JC Ballard and Peck Ballard. Survivors include loving husband, Dan Bray of Lubbock, Nancy Merrill of Lubbock, Peggy Hogan and husband, Mickey of Fort Worth, Shelley Nix and husband, Mike of Lubbock, Dan Bray and wife, Susie of Brownfield, Bill Bray and wife, Esther of Arlington; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017, in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Jim Gerlt officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
