Eugene Solas, 82, of Houston, Texas, passed away on April 11, 2017. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 15, 1934 to Edward and Mary Solas. He was married to Dorothy Solas for 57 years. Gene served in the Airforce for 31 years as the Assistant Fire Chief at Ellington A.F.B. He had a career as the Deputy Sherriff at the Harris County Sheriffs' Department for 19 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Solas. He is survived by his two children Lisa and Tim Solas and his two granddaughters Julienne and Steve Solas. A visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm, Friday, April 13, 2017, at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Committal services will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery following the funeral service.
