Eunice Flanagan Holland of Roanoke, Va., enjoyed 99 years on Earth until Wednesday, June 20, 2018, when she rejoined the joys of her life, her late husband, Mossett Lee (Bob) Holland, and their infant son. Her picture of him was in every room of the house but now they are back together. They were truly a united couple. She is survived by her sister, Helen Ann Daniel of Chester, Va.; brother, Stuart Flanagan of North, Va.; along with so many wonderful nieces and nephews and other family members. As one niece said, "I am taking time today to just think about all Aunt Eunice did to make my life as rich as it has been. She was an amazing woman." Eunice and Bob were everyone's favorite; always so kind and so giving and so principled without any pretensions. Eunice graduated from Westhampton College of the University of Richmond where she was active in student affairs and playing field hockey and basketball. She enjoyed playing bridge throughout her life as well as bowling where she was a league officer. She and Bob also enjoyed square dancing and travel, which they did extensively. It needs to be acknowledged that Brenda Brown, her close caregiver, was able to comfort Eunice in her time of need and allowed Eunice to stay at home in peace. Funeral arrangements are being made through Oakey's Roanoke Chapel (Downtown). Online condolences may be made at www.oakeys.com.
