He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Fred William and Wilda Mae Dye Ware. Jerry drove a truck for HT Hackney Supply for 18 years. He had also cut lumber for many years and did road construction for Stewart Brothers in Robbinsville, NC.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Mae Ware; two brothers, Larry Ware and Gene Dye and sister, Joyce Bandy.
He is survived by one son, Donald Ware and wife Carol of Murphy, NC; one step-son, David Lovingood and wife Joni of Concord, NC; his twin brother, Gary Ware and wife Irene and brother, Ronnie Ware and wife Sue; sister, Joyce Bandy; three grandchildren, Alston, Barrett and Abigail Ware; two step-grandchildren, Andy and Justin Lovingood and one great-granddaughter, Kayveon Ware.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. Preacher Bobby Lovingood, Pastor Steve Ware and Rev. Calvin Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alston Ware, Rusty Bailey, Ray Hamby, Harold Neal, David Lovingood and Gerry Paiva. Honorary pallbearers will be Barrett Ware, Seth Morgan, Carson Lovingood, Dawson Sisum and Tyson Lovingood.
