Patrick Michael Dillon, 69, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away on April 12, 2017 at his home after a 3 year battle with melanoma. Pat was born on March 8, 1948, to the late Joseph Dillon & Shirley (Leroux) Dillon in Monroe, Michigan.

He attended St. Michaels Grade School and High School in Monroe, Michigan. He graduated in 1966 from Forest Hills High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1968-1974.

He then attended Grand Valley State University and graduated Cum Laude in 1976 with a Bachelor’s in Special Education. Pat taught special education at Beaverton Elementary School for 33 years. He retired in 2007. Pat coached 7th grade boys and girls basketball for the Beaverton Basketball Program for 25 years. He was inducted into the Michigan Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002.

Pat married Peggy Jehnsen on January 23, 1982. They just celebrated their 35th anniversary. Pat enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and Notre Dame football. He was a member of the Albright Shores Fraternal Order of Eagles. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh and his ability to make everyone around him laugh.

Pat is survived by his wife, Peggy Dillon of Beaverton; mother, Shirley Dillon Hauser of Temperance, Michigan; brother, Timothy Dillon of Monroe, Michigan; sister, Sheila Dillon of Ida, Michigan; stepchildren: Melissa (Tom) Pohlman, Rolly Jehnsen, Leanne “Nan” Jehnsen, Arthur “Bub” Jehnsen all of Beaverton, and Jody (Kerry) Jehnsen of Gladwin; 6 grandchildren: Corey Pohlman (Mandi Stiffler), Casey Pohlman, Greg Jehnsen, Brenden Jehnsen, Sean Jehnsen, Bryce Jehnsen; 2 great-grandchildren, Liam Pohlman & Rhyan Jehnsen. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; nephew, Ian Dillon; and his furry best friend, Maggie.

Funeral Liturgy will be conducted on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017, from 1-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan.

He will be laid to rest at Tobacco (Dale) Township Cemetery, Beaverton, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beaverton Activity Center, Beaverton Relay for Life, or the Beaverton- Gladwin Libraries.
