Kent Boyd Sanders passed away April 6, 2017 in Ivins, UT. He was born on October 31, 1934 in Los Angeles, CA to Ellis Arthur and Cordelia Thorne Sanders.
Dad graduated from North Sevier High School in Salina, UT where his family lived most of their lives.
He married Marie Norman in the Manti Temple on July 29, 1955 and shortly thereafter moved his family to Logan, UT, where he attended Utah State University. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and had an opportunity to move to Gunnison to manage the Guninson Telephone Company.
There he was active in community and church activities, serving on the South Sanpete School Board for 12 years and the Gunnison Stake High Council. He was a member of the Fishlake Cabin Owner’s Association for years, which he enjoyed immensely.
Enjoying the outdoors, whether on horseback, working the farm or capturing beautiful photographs, was Dad’s repose.
Dad is survived by his wife, Marie, to whom his loving devotion knew no bounds; son, Jim (Suzanne); daughter, Kirsten (Edwin); sister: Vicki Peterson; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Joyce (Hal), Karen (Bill); brother, Gary; and grandson, Nicholas Sanders.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gunnison Stake Center, 80 West Center, where friend may call from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery with military rites by the Gunnison American Legion Post #104.
