Parents-Kenneth Hislop and Gertie Johnston Hislop

He was the youngest of four boys

Married his wife, Betty, on June 14, 1957 and they were the parents of four children.

When he was growing up he worked on the family farm with his father and brothers

Veteran - United States Army. After his military service he became a Vermont State Trooper serving the Northeast Kingdom and then to central Vermont until he retired as a lieutenant heading the BCI stationed at the Middlesex barracks. After that he went to work as a deputy for the Washington County Sheriff's Department, retiring in December of 2015 at the age of 86.

He enjoyed traveling all over the United States with his wife. He also loved woodworking, carving and his shop, vegetable gardening, cookouts and company and riding his motorcycle with his kids and friends.

Survived by his wife; three sons, and their spouses; one daughter and her fiancé; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife; several nieces and nephews; friends; and his dogs

Predeceased by his parents, brother Russell, brother John, sisters-in-law Mabel and Teresa.
