Charlotte G. Gardner Clayton, 82, of 2627 Hudson Road, Erie, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 1997, at Erie Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born May 24, 1915, in Union City, daughter of the late Albert and Pearl Blackmer Gardner.
Mrs. Clayton was a graduate of Academy High School and a longtime member of Cascade United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Alton Gardner.
Survivors include her husband, Vance R. Clayton, whom she married March 9, 1947; a daughter, Sally Cole of Erie.
Private burial will be at Girard Cemetery.
