Mitchell S. Davis, 62, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at home Monday, April 10, 2017, while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to Richard Davis and Wanda (Kindig) Davis-Walker on Dec. 21, 1954, in Elkhart.
Mitch married Deborah Johnson in June of 1973 and together they celebrated more than 40 years of life, love and family.
Mr. Davis owned Mitch Davis Construction and was in the construction industry all his life.
He loved to fish, enjoyed fast-pitch softball and was known for his killer hook-ball as an avid bowler.
Next to the love and adoration for his family, was his dedication to the youth ministry at Living Faith Fellowship in Elkhart. He was also a leader in the men’s ministry for more than 30 years.
In addition to Mitch’s wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Gary) Wager of Elkhart, sons Heath Davis and Travis (Lesley) Davis, also of Elkhart, and four grandchildren, Lilly, Owen, Collin, and Adison. Also surviving are two brothers, Rich Davis of Okeechobee, Florida and Dan (Linda) Davis of Jones, Michigan.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his father.
Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with Mitch’s arrangements.
His family will be holding a celebration of life ceremony in honor of his legacy at Living Faith Fellowship, 2601 Benham Ave., Elkhart, Saturday, April 15. Friends will be received from 10 until service time at 11 a.m.
