Everett D. Davis, 93, of Cookeville, Tennessee, peacefully joined many of his family and friends in the Lord’s presence on April 11, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Joan Ann Jackson Davis of Corning, AK.; his parents, Henry Porter and Martella Jane Cronk Davis; four sisters, Elisa Bryant, Eura Lane, Alma Smith; and one brother, Tom Davis.

Everett was a faithful member of Trinity Assembly of Algood where he lovingly served as a greeter every Sunday morning. He was passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with every person he met. He loved & treasured his church family and enjoyed fellowship with the Prime-timers as well as his Wednesday morning men’s Bible Study group. During his final years he was blessed by the prayers, visits and love of his church family.

Mr. Davis, a US Navy Veteran, proudly served his country during WWII as a Petty Officer on the USS Tarbell, a retired Navel Destroyer. He was an ordained minister and pastored two fellowships: Faith Temple & Arnold’s Chapel. He was a farmer and a master of many trades. At the age of 72 he retired from the City of Cookeville.

Mr. Davis’ greatest joy was sharing Jesus. He loved to work and considered it essential for living a content and happy life. He took pride in caring for his yard and garden into his late 80’s. He was an avid fan of the UT Vols and the Tennessee Titans. While he was physically able he made daily cardiac rehabilitation a priority. He loved this community they were like family to him.

Special appreciation and thanks to Dr. Alex Case; Mrs. Debbie Baker, and the staff of Cardiac Rehab at Cookeville Medical Center; Mrs. Josie, Ruby Murphy, Judy Hix, Diane Fox; and those who provided care at Signature Health Care Center.
