Robert J. High, Sr. entered into his eternal rest at Estelle's House, Ocala, Florida under the care of Hospice on March 29, 2017.

Robert was born to Ivan and Sarah High on March 4, 1927 in Lancaster, PA. He graduated from McCaskey High and Franklin & Marshall College where he was inducted into their sport's Hall of Fame for his swimming and football exploits. Robert was an Army Veteran and served in World War II.

After graduating from college, Robert moved to Miami, FL where he married his wife of 62 years, Arlene Leh High. There he was employed as a pharmaceutical representative, retiring in 1988 after 32 years. After retirement, the couple moved to Ocala where they were very active in antique hunting. One of Robert's other passions was roller-skating which he put to good use as a rink guard at Skate Mania. He took great pride in being one of only two 80-year-old floor guards in America.

Robert and Arlene raised three children; Kimberly Jayne Hedden, married to Michael Burnett Hedden, Robert James High, Jr., and David John High, partnered to Ralph C. Del Pozzo. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley High, and brother Gerald High.

Besides his wife and three children, Robert is survived by a sister, Shirley Lefever (married to Terry Lefever), his brother Van High, four grandchildren; Kristin Hedden Grunbaum, Jason Hedden, Sean Hedden, and Lauren Hedden as well as four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Central Christian Church, Friday, April 21st at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at Bushnell National Cemetery.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospices' Estelle's House, 2897 SE. 62nd Street, Ocala, FL 34480, or to the Salvation Army.
