Mrs. Sophronia J. Plank, 89, of Ozark, died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Plank was born in Selmore and was a member of the Highlandville Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ada Clark, Ozark and Mrs. Nellie Hicks, Springfield; three sons, Earl Plank, Springfield, W. E. "Happy" Plank of Nixa and Lloyd Plank of Ozark. Other survivors are two brothers, Clifford Melton of Ozark and Robert E. Melton of Ontario, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Melton, Ontario and Mrs. Ada Pollard, Ozark; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Harris Chapel at Ozark with the Rev. Ora Short officiating. Burial was in Jones-Chastain Cemetery.
