Juanita Marie Crawford, age 89 of Alvin, Texas passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Clear Lake Regional Hospital Webster, Texas. Juanita was born February 24, 1928 in Heavener, Oklahoma and was a resident of Alvin since January 2013. She lived in Iuka, Mississippi from 1962-2013 where she worked as an RN and helped run their antique business. She had strong faith in Christ and ministries involving writing newspaper articles, radio programs, providing clothes for underprivileged and transporting them for medical care. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ella Padgett; son, Larry Crawford.
Juanita is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Charles Crawford; daughter, Teresa Bitner and husband Daryl; Daughter-in-Law, Linda Crawford; grandchildren, Adam Bitner, Joseph Bitner, Abigail Bitner, Jeremy Bitner and wife Jenna, Ali Kober and husband Jordan; Daniel Crawford and wife Jaci , Nathan Crawford, Sarah Crawford, Kim Richerson and husband Jim, and Shelley Swindell; great grandchildren, Raylen Bitner, Kaylee Crawford, Lauren Batson and Noah Richerson; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Scott Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made in Juanita's honor to the Alvin YMCA or to the St. Jude's Children Hospital.
