Georgia Ola Wright, loved and respected by all that knew her, died the afternoon of April 10, 2017.
Georgia, our Mamaw, was, born in Mount Calm on July 18, 1909 to Haywood Leath and Georgia Camilla Christian; she had ten brothers and sisters. She married Thomas Rutherford Wright on June 19, 1931 in Marietta, Oklahoma very appropriately located in Love County, Oklahoma.
Georgia and Rutherford were founding members of Oakhurst United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 52 years. Georgia was currently a member of Arborlawn United Methodist Church where she attended church and Sunday school.
Georgia and Rutherford were proud of their daughters, Suzanne Tarpley and the late, Joy Landers; they loved their sons-in-law, James Tarpley and the late, Rick Landers who they welcomed with open arms into their family.
Georgia is survived by Suzanne and James Tarpley; grandchildren, Jimmy Tarpley and his wife, Sandy, Sheri Broadway, Scott Landers and his wife, Kerry, Lisa Goldberg and her husband, David; great-grandchildren, Johnathan Broadway, Chris Broadway, Tyler Goldberg, Peyton Goldberg, Georgia Goldberg, Mitch Landers, and Smith Landers.
We will miss Mamaw with her wit, wisdom, love, and never wavering faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We know she now resides in Heaven and will enjoy Easter at her Saviour's side.
