FRED STUSSY, JOPLIN RESIDENT 45 YEARS, DIES

Fred Stussy, 74 years old, 2009 Murphy avenue, died at 11:30 o'clock yesterday morning in St John's hospital where he had been a patient one week.

Born November 15, 1879, in Granby, Mr Stussy had been a resident of Joplin forty-five years. He was a retired miner and a member of the Friendship Baptist church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs Sarah Stussy; two sons, Henry Stussy and James Stussy of East Rochester, Pennsylvania; two stepsons, William B Carter of Kansas City and Floyd Wetherly of Charleston, South Carolina; three stepdaughters, Mrs Ida Mae Medley of Durham, North Carolina, Mrs Rena Berry of Baxter Springs and Mrs Nellie Haynes of Laramie, Wyoming; a sister, Mrs Louise Knaust, 608 West Twenty-first street; five brothers, Henry Stussy and Jake Stussy of Taft, California, Mike Stussy of Long Beach, California, Carl Stussy of Neosho route 5, Robert Stussy of Kansas City and four grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Steve Parker mortuary.
