STANLEY, ARTHUR C., 88, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2017, after spending time with all of his family, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ. He was born in Jersey City, NJ, and resided in Phila., PA, before moving to Lakewood 27 years ago.

Arthur was employed in administration development at LaSalle University in Phila. for 10 years, retiring in 1994. Prior to that, he worked at Temple University for 17 years.

After meeting Fr. Edwin Grimes, Arthur became a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Lakewood where he sang in the choir, was a Eucharistic Minister, and worked with the altar servers. In addition, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6201 in Jackson. Prior to moving to Lakewood, he was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church where he was a volunteer and active in all aspects of the church community and he was known by all.

Arthur proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur E. and Anne Stanley; and his Brother, John J. Stanley. He is survived by his Wife, Alice M. Stanley; his Children, Arthur T., Therese A., James E., Thomas A., Michael E., Paul T., Robert F., Peter L., and John W.; his 18 grand-children; and by his 3 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, from 4 - 7 P.M. at THE GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. His Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ. Please meet at Church at 10:15 A.M. Interment will take place on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 10 A.M. in Calvary Cemetery, 199 Old Gulph Rd., Conshohocken, PA 19428.
