Matthew Todd Wright, 42, of Shelby, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at CHS Cleveland, Shelby, NC. Born June 24, 1974, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late David Earl Wright and Alice Karen Bollinger Wright.
A U. S. Navy veteran and graduate of Spartanburg High School, Matthew was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Tianna Marie Wright and Maureen Nicole Wright of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Christopher David Wright of Woodruff, SC; and grandmother, Frankie N. Wright of Boiling Springs, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Cora W. Bollinger; and paternal grandfather, Thomas S. Wright.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, April 14, 2017, in Oak Grove Cemetery, 350 N. Blackstock Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29301, by the Rev. Emily Edenfield. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 415 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
