CERIN, Kellie Jeane Stillion
Loving wife, mother, daughter, and avid horsewoman, passed away February 1, 2007, from a sudden heart attack while vacationing with her family in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Kellie was born May 31, 1955, in Fairborn, Ohio, and her family moved to the Palmdale area of California when she was about 2 years old. She graduated from Quartz Hill High School and attended Antelope Valley College and College of the Canyons. She was an accomplished rider and horse trainer. In addition, she was a coveted instructor and recognized hunter/jumper participant. She was encouraged by and remained close to her parents, Dr. Rodney and Wanda Stillion. She won her first ribbons as a rider at age 11 and as a trainer at age 17 and continued to be awarded hundreds of ribbons,
bronzes, buckles and trophies throughout her life. She also enjoyed yoga, reading, listening to jazz and travel, and was an expert snow skier. The passion of Kellie's life was to heal, help and protect horses. To that end, she installed and operated a hyperbaric chamber at her family's Bradbury ranch, where she devoted countless hours to the rehabilitation of numerous thoroughbreds. She is survived by her devoted husband Vladimir and four children, Brian 26, Alexis 24, Tyler 18 and Blake 13. Also surviving are her father Dr. Rodney Stillion of Palmdale; sisters Ann Marie Stillion of Seattle, Caryn Starling of Louisiana, and Sandy Stillion of Delaware; and her brothers Kenny Stillion of Pismo Beach, and David Stillion of San Francisco. Services will be held at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, 400 West Duarte Road in Arcadia, Calif. A reception will follow immediately at the Santa Anita Golf Club in Arcadia. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the California Equine Retirement Fund, 34033 Kooden Road, Winchester, CA 92596.
