L.L. Cook 94 of Cameron formerly of Gilman City passed away Sunday, April 9th 2017 at the Quail Run Care Center in Cameron. Masonic services will be held at 10:45 Friday. Burial will be held at the Fairport Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Fairport Cemetery.

L.L. was born November 8, 1922 the son of Loyd E. and Mary (Hines) Cook in Fairport, MO. He graduated from Altamont High School in 1940, and then attended Wentworth Military Academy. He took an interest in boxing and continued the sport while in the Academy. L.L. was united in marriage to Charlotte Lowe in 1942 and the couple made their home near Gilman City. In 1949 there son William (Billy) Lee was born. L.L. had farmed all of his life; he was an entrepreneur who at the age of 21 purchased what was to be later named Mile Square Farm LL Cook and Son. His operation also included raising cattle and hogs. L.L. worked on the railroad and later started working heavy construction. He retired in 2004, but became partners with his son Bill, and grandson Loyd to start Missouri Sand in Gallatin.

L.L. was a 50 plus years member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. He loved to travel and had been all over the United States. He spoke his mind and never shied away from hard work, L.L.’s philosophy was there’s no challenge to big. He was an amazing, unique individual—bigger than life. From a business standpoint, he understood how to create excitement and was a problem solver. L.L. will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

L.L. was preceded in death by his parents Loyd E and Mary, wife Charlotte and son Bill Cook.

L.L. is survived by his Grandson, Loyd Cook, Union Star, daughter-in-law, Debby Cook, Columbia.
