She was retired from the Tate County Sheriff’s Department.
The family received friends at a catered reception from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, January 14 at Hernando Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hernando Funeral Home chapel. Interment followed in Evanson Bett Cemetery.
Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Bett Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Gregg Jenkins (Dustie) of Senatobia and Lee Jenkins of Southaven; grandchildren, Jonathan Jenkins, Jacob Jenkins and Sheena Hollingsworth; great-grandson, Caydin; sisters, Brenda Farrow (Jerry) of Bett, Rita Hartzell of Senatobia and Patricia Padron of Senatobia; and her sister in Christ, Myra McGeehee (Larry).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Jenkins, her parents, Eugene and Dorothy Peyton; brother, Rickey Peyton; sisters, Angela Peyton and Linda Peyton.
