Lois "Frances" Harper, 81 of Brunswick, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Hospice of the Golden Isles surrounded by her loving family.
Frances is survived by her two sons, Tim Harper (Rhonda) of St. Simons Island, GA and Jimmy Harper (Darcy) of Atlanta, GA and "daughter" Crystal Purvis Yeager (Tim) of Savannah, GA and her five grandchildren; Tyler Harper, Evan Harper, Elise Harper, Ansley Harper, and Sims Harper. She was pre-deceased by her husband of fifty five years, Melvin Harper, and her son, Melvin "Bruce" Harper.
Frances was born in Douglas, Georgia on December 12, 1935, the daughter of the late William and Gladys Spivey. She was one of eleven children: Ineva Harper (Cecil), Lee Spivey (Leola), Janell Paulk (Quinton), Thurman Spivey, "Frances Harper (Melvin)", R.W. Spivey (Earlene), Ernestine Dupree (Terry), Judy Gurley (Lloyd), Larry Spivey (Patsy), Carroll Spivey (Joann), and Wilton Spivey (Bet).
Frances was a devoted wife and mother. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, cooking, sewing and serving her family. She was a GREAT cook and loved preparing meals from the garden for her family. Frances was a member of Antioch Holiness Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 1 p.m. to 2 p.m... followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. 3321 Glynn Ave., Brunswick, Ga. A graveside service at Palmetto Cemetery will follow.
