She later married Lawrence “Larry” R. Stone on April 23, 1961, in Topeka, KS. Larry and Carole shared 33 years of devoted marriage until he passed away on August 18, 1994. Together they had three children.
Carole was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority at Washburn University. She was an active member of Tecumseh United Methodist Church where she was a Mother’s Day Out provider and preschool teacher for many years.
She volunteered her time at the church, Midland Hospice and the annual Crop Walk at Lake Shawnee. Carole enjoyed helping others, playing bingo, country dancing, and bowling.
She is survived by her three children, Scott (Jennifer) Stone of Olathe, KS, Melinda Blaser of Topeka, KS, Brian (Michelle) Stone of Platte City, MO; six grandchildren, Alexander, Wolf III, Skylar, Nicholas, Lauren, and Addison; brother, William “Bill” Johnson of Albuquerque, NM; and nine nieces and nephews.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and dear friend and companion, William “Bill” Land.
