CARLSBAD — Antonio Juan "Tony" Hernandez, 91, of West Riverside Drive, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at Carlsbad Medical Center.
He was born on May 27, 1915, in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico. He died in Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico. Tony became a naturalized American citizen in 1944 and was very proud of this fact.
Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Bacon officiating.
A private entombment will take place at Sunset Gardens.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 1st Lt. Jorge Warren Hernandez Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Carlsbad Foundation, 116 S. Canyon St., Carlsbad, NM 88220.
