Ryland Albert Mazur
January 18, 1920 - April 8, 2017

Ryland Albert Mazur, 97, of Austin was called peacefully home to his heavenly Father on April 8th 2017. Ryland was born on January 18, 1920 in Fairmont, West Virginia to George and Ada Mazur.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am at St. Louis Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Rd. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 9:30 am on April 12th at St. Louis Catholic Church

Ryland grew up in West Virginia. He worked as a coal miner in Morgantown, W.Va. He then took up carpentry which became his career. He moved to Smithville, Texas where he was hired to build barracks for the Army. In Smithville, he met his future wife, Martha Javor. They were married in Smithville, Texas on June 12, 1942.

He enlisted in the Army Air Force during WWII in July 1942 and deployed on July 25, 1942. Ryland received an honorable discharge in January 1946. He with wife and daughter Rylene moved to Fairmont, W.Va. He began working as a carpenter and was excellent in his job. In 1954, he moved with his family to Austin, Texas, where his sons Jerry and Mark were born. Ryland and family joined St. Louis Catholic Church. He worked for the Capital National Bank Building in carpentry and maintenance, and retired from there in 1989. Ryland was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting.

Ryland is survived by daughter, Rylene Foegelle and her husband, Peter David Foegelle, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma and their children, Mary Lisa Foegelle; Michael Foegelle and his wife Machael; John Foegelle and his wife Laura and their children, Amy, Alex, Aidan and Ashley; Martha Diaz and her husband Jesus and Christian Pike; Paul Foegelle and his wife Andrea and their children Joseph and Lucas, Son, Jerry Mazur of Round Rock and his daughter Valentina Watson and her husband Phillip and their children Braydon, Hunter, Landree, Blyss; and son Steven Mazur and his wife Rachel and their child Davis. And son, Mark Mazur and wife Teresa of Fredericksburg and their son Christopher Mazur and his wife Tiffani; daughter Erin Williams and her husband Ben and their daughter Ara; and daughter Amanda Mazur.

Ryland was preceded in death by his wife Martha; and great-grandson, Ryan Williams in addition to his 10 siblings and many in-laws.

Pallbearers include Christopher Mazur, Steven Mazur, William Dowding, Joseph Colbert, Rick Freeman, and John Foegelle
Ryland will be missed by his family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to St. Louis Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospital Hospice, St. Jude's Hospital or the charity of your choice.
