Kathleen J. Lawrence, 73, of Waterloo, died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 9, 2017 of cancer.

Kathleen was born on October 13, 1943 in Waterloo, daughter of Leo DeWayne and Elma (Apling) Hansen. She graduated from East High School in 1961.

Kathleen married Edward M. Lawrence on February 24, 1961 in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on April 22, 1995.

She worked for Hinson Manufacturing and also Baird Industries as a welder before retiring in 1985.

Kathleen was a member of the Rambling Wheels Motorcycle Club.

She is survived by: a son, Mark Lawrence Waterloo; three grandchildren: Jeremiah (Kelly) Lawrence of Granbury, Texas, James (Rachel) Bumgarner of Waterloo, and Josh (Beth) Bumgarner of Evansdale; and eight great-grandchildren.

Kathleen was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Edward; and a brother, Dennis Hansen.
