James O. “Jim” Keeling, 85, of Oregon passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo surrounded by his family. He was born in Oregon on February 27, 1930 to Earl and Vida Keeling and for 30 years worked for Interlake Steel as a guard until he retired. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed fishing and loved to be grandpa to all his grandchildren. Jim was a volunteer fireman for the Oregon Station 2 Fire Department. He lived a loving life and it truly showed.



Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Patricia (John) Ketting, James F. Keeling, Lamar Keeling, Charles (Deborah) Keeling and Jill (Terry) Miller; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren and 1 brother. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean Keeling; 1 grandson and 3 siblings.



Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 10-12 p.m. with the Funeral Service to begin at Noon where by a fireman’s last alarm service will take place. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the Oregon Fire Department, Station #2.
