Ruby Baker Greene, 94, of Double Bridges Rd, Spout Spring, died Sunday, April 9, 2017, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Christie “Chris” Layfayette Greene.

Born in Wilkes County, N. C., on February 16, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Amanda Powell and Granville Mack Baker. She retired from the Appomattox Garment Factory.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Milton L. “Buddy” and Nancy Greene of Spout Spring; four daughters and sons-in-law, Audrie G. Ragland, Evelyn G. and Robert Garrett all of Appomattox, Melanie G. and Hal Chambers of Spout Spring, and Thresea G. and Jeff Lewis of Concord; 14 grandchildren including a grandson she raised, Eddie Ragland, 24 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; devoted friends, Bobby and Kitty Clifton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Clarence Ragland and 10 brothers and sisters.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Liberty Cemetery by the Rev. Chris Brooks.

The family will receive friends at her residence on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, from 2 until 6 p.m.
