Sonja attended school in Norway to become a professional seamstress, which led to a successful 26-year career as a Master Fitter at Nordstrom in the Tacoma Mall. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed the “snowbird” life, and traveled back and forth between Washington and Surprise, Arizona. She was a golden member of Sons of Norway and a member of the Tacoma Elks lodge.
Sonja was preceded in death by her husband Gunnar Horgen in December of 2016. She is survived by three daughters and two sons. Sonja also had grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, both in Norway and the United States.
