C.J. Faulk

C.J. Faulk passed away at Abrom Kaplan Hospital on Thursday, December 4th, at 10:40pm. He was the only son of Joseph Otto & Zula Bellaire Faulk.
He was 86 years old.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, at First Assembly of God Church in Youngsville, La. Thomas M. Faulk Sr. will officiate the Service.
Mr. Faulk donated his body to Tulane University School of Medicine.
He is survived by his wife, Della Mae Broussard Faulk; children: Donald Ray Faulk (Sharon Frederick Faulk), Robert Claiborne Faulk (Jerri Touchet Faulk), Edward James Faulk, Thomas Michael Faulk Sr. (Lisa Hebert Faulk), Claiborne John Faulk Jr. (Maxine Larcade Faulk) and Marissa Faulk Moss (Dave Moss)
He has nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Faulk was proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph Otto Faulk and Zula Bellaire Faulk.
He was born in Abbeville, La on June 20, 1928. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School and immediately joined the Navy in 1945 where he served his country in Washington, DC.
After his honorable discharge, he met and married Della Mae Broussard from Kaplan, La. They resided in New Orleans, LA where he worked as a construction estimator. Then after a short time in Dallas, they moved back to the Abbeville, LA area where he started his own metal building construction company. He made a shift to oilfield construction in the early 70’s where he worked for many local and international companies building oil rig sites. He later became an inspector where he oversaw construction of oil platforms that found their home in many parts of the world.
He was a man who believed in investing in his community and in individual’s lives.
He was a long time Boy Scout Leader & Babe Ruth Baseball coach. He was the manager of a very popular teen music group headed up by the older sons. He invested his life in the training up of young boys & young men.
He had a great love for flying and had his small plane pilot’s license. He was a long time
member of the “Confederate Air Force” (CAF) which was dedicated to the restoration and continued recognition of the air power that helped win & end WWII. For a time he was the wing leader for the local Acadiana chapter called the “Cajun Wing”.
After retirement, he spent his time remodeling & building churches and traveling to help missionaries bring the love of Jesus Christ to the world. His knowledge and love for construction gave him many opportunities to help others.
His home church was First Assembly of God in Youngsville, LA. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather & great great grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Faulk wanted donations sent to the Royal Rangers Boys Program
at First Assembly of God Church, Youngsville, LA.
