Thelma E. Witmer Guiser, 89, of Bellefonte, passed away Friday April 7, 2017, at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born on August 13, 1927, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of Earl and Ida (Adams) Wion. She was married to Paul S. Witmer who preceded her in death in 1995. She then married Nevin Guiser who preceded her in death in 2013. Thelma attended the Bellefonte School System. She was a homemaker and was a clerk and manager for American Rescue Group. Thelma worked for five years as a missionary in New Mexico and loved listening and singing to gospel music. She enjoyed yard sailing and puzzles. Thelma is survived by her children: Sandy Steiner (Buddy), of Morrisdale, Paul B. Witmer, Gary L. Witmer (Darlene), Mark A. Witmer (Sharon), Linda Ford, all of Bellefonte, Rick Witmer (Janet), of Centre Hall, Randy Witmer (Maxine), of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Thomas Witmer (Mae), of Gallup, N.M.; one sister, Janice Poorman; and two brothers, Richard "Gene" (Ann) Wion, and Elmer Wion, both of Bellefonte. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Witmer; three sisters, Betty, Emma and Anna; and three brothers: Glen, James and Cyrus. Friends will be received on Monday, April 10, 2017, from 10-11 a.m. at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Leroy Wion officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Meyer Cemetery, Bellefonte.
