Mr. Street was among the group of Kentucky’s World War II veterans who visited their memorial as part of the WWII DC trip to Washington, D.C., in May 2004. In November 2010, he received the Court Award from the McCracken County Fiscal Court and the Duke of Paducah award from Mayor Bill Paxton in recognition of his service to the military and to his community. Mr. Street was born Oct. 6, 1921, in Lowndes, Mo., but he had lived in Paducah since 1952.

His devoted wife of nearly 65 years, Mary Street, survives him. They were married Feb. 23, 1946.
