Edward F Jones, 73, of Pine Street, passed away Tuesday evening at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home with his daughter at his side. Born in Gloversville, New York, on January 27, 1934, he was the last surviving child of Frederick and Mariam Schibley Jones. Educated locally, he was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps in his youth. he was employed by Letter Memorial Inc. of Johnstown, and later as an assistant manager of the Grand Union in Glenville. He retired due to a disabiity in 1980. Ed was a member and past Sgt. of Arms at the John J Wyszomirski Post 701 American Legion and was a member of the Irish American Club. He served his country as an MP in Korea with the US Army. He was married to the former Patricia LaGreco. His loving family include his sons: James Jones and Philip Foggia; and daughers, Mrs. Mary Zyzes, Mrs. Geraldine Hill and Mrs. Jeanette Gugliemelli. In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his son, Patrick M Jones and sister, Margaret Witzke.
