Victor J. Petek, Jr., Navigator on B-29 Superfortress "Jook" Girl, which crashed on takeoff from the island of Tinian, February 10, 1945. All 11 crew members were killed instantly when the plane, fully fueled and loaded with bombs, exploded.

His parents immigrated to the US from Yugoslavia. Victor was born in Wisconsin in 1917, flying in WWII with the 483rd BS, 505th BG.

Victor's remains were returned to Wisconsin in December, 1948, and he was buried in January, 1949. He resides next to his parents, Caroline and Victor, Sr.
