James "Doug" Wade Rimmer, 80, died April 8, 2017 at his home. He was born in Person County to the late William Henry Rimmer and Aldean Wilson Rimmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Rimmer. Mr. Rimmer retired from Romeo Guest Construction Company in 1998. After retirement, he loved to fish, listen to bluegrass music, and was an avid Tarheel fan. Mr. Rimmer loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and taking them on vacations. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Wilmalean McCullough Rimmer, of the home; two daughters, Donna R. Price (Billy) and Deborah R. Long (Linwood), both of Hurdle Mills; five brothers, Henry Daniel Rimmer, of Fayetteville, Lionel Rimmer, of Cedar Grove, Donald Rimmer, of Roxboro, Vance Rimmer, of Hurdle Mills, and Maurice Rimmer, of Roxboro; two sisters, Martha R. Moore, of Hurdle Mills, and Vivian R. Wilkerson, of Roxboro; eight grandchildren, Jessica Stephens (Ryan), Jonathan Long (Hannah), Jenna Long, Joseph Long, Dylan Price, Eric Price, B.J. Price, and Shane Price; and one great-grandchild, Aubree Long.

Burial will follow in Wheeler's Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Long, Joseph Long, Dylan Price, Wayne Wilkerson, Jr., Mike Rimmer, and Martin Rimmer.
