Toledo Blade Obituary published March 10, 2001 reads:
Edith C. Ricker, 82, of Wauseon, Ohio died early Tuesday morning, March 6, 2001 at the Medical College Hospital in Toledo, following a short illness. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she had worked as a cook for the Wauseon Elks Lodge.
Mrs. Ricker was born in Henry County on September 20, 191 8 to Robert and Dora (Klopfenstein) Leininger. On December 11, 1937 she married Walter Ricker, and he preceded her in death in 1989. She was a member of the Church of God in Wauseon.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Marlene (Ronald) Burkert of Swanton, Ohio and Lynnett (Richard) Gearing of Montpelier, Ohio; 3 sons, Marvin (Terri) Ricker of Dawsonville, GA, Melvin (Cathy) Ricker of Napoleon, Ohio and Richard (Pamela ) Ricker of Wauseon, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marjorie Sullivan of Toledo and Imogene Buehrer of Wauseon.
Preceding her in death besides her husband, Walter, were her parents, and 4 sisters, Velma Metcalf, Myrtle Armstrong, Sadie Pennington and Christine Kime.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2001 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, Ohio with the Rev. Wesley Glines officiating. Interment will follow in the Ottokee Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.
