John was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from General Electric Base Plant, Providence several years ago and was previously employed by Crompton & Knowles Company, Pawtucket.
John leaves three children, Mary E. Pickett of Wayne, PA, Ann M. Larochelle and her husband, Paul, Sr. of Pawtucket and John J. Pickett, III and his wife, Liza of Melrose, MA; a grandson, Paul A. Larochelle, Jr. and his wife, Lauren of Mansfield, MA; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Larochelle; a sister, Frances Long of Manville; a sister-in-law, Patricia Pickett of Seekonk and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Pickett, Mary Montecalvo, Dorothy Mania and Mildred DeSisto.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held from WWilliam W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
