Mr. Robinson was born in Brunswick County on March 20, 1942 and was the son of the late Jesse Cromwell Robinson and Ruth Roach Robinson. He was husband of the late Georgia Knight Robinson and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Benton. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working with his antique tractors. He was a member of Shallotte Lodge #727 A.F.&A.M. He was a retired dredge boat engineer.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Clemmons and husband Leamon of Shallotte, Brent Robinson and wife Sherri of Longwood; grandchildren, Jordan and Emily Clemmons, Courtney and Jesse Robinson, Christopher Benton, John Gregory; great grandchildren, Brylan Helton, Wesson Benton, Tanner Benton, Grayce Bruce, Kagen and Gavin Gregory; a sister, Peggy McLamb of Leland; brothers, Billy Robinson, Blondell Robinson (Mildred), Tommy Robinson all of Supply and Mack Robinson and wife Carolyn of Texas; his canine companion Rover and numerous very special nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held Monday April 10, 2017 at eleven o'clock in the morning at Silent Grove Cemetery with Reverend Brian Clemmons officiating and masonic rites accorded by Shallotte Lodge #727 A.F.&A.M.
