Louis, 60, died at 4:26 a.m., at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

He was the son of Anthony and Juanita (Stein) Acerro. On Dec 1, 2001, he married Jan Gremling, who survives in Lima.

Also surviving are a son, Anthony Acerro, Ecuador; three daughters: Haley (Phil) Smith, Ada, and Katie and Abbey Acerro, both Elida; two stepsons: Shawn Brunk, Lima, and Ronald Shade, Jr., Massillon; a stepdaughter, Amanda (Jim Williams) Shade, Canton; two sisters: Beverly Acerro and Carrie (Roy Lewis) Young, both Allentown, PA; mother-in-law, Rita Gremling; four brothers-in-law: Tom Gremling, Dan (Claire) Gremling, Jim (Noelle) Gremling and Mark (Chrystal) Gremling; two sisters-in-law: Lori (Cody) Wood and Barb (Nathan) Winters; and ten grandchildren.

Deceased is father-in-law, Tom Gremling.

A member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, he was employed for over 15 years as a probation officer with the Allen County Adult Probation Dept. He was a Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, photography, and woodworking.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Gerard Catholic Church, with REv. Jim Szobonya officiating. Burial will follow the service at Gethsemani Cemetery.
