Alfred Blanchard, 86, of Creston, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Creston Nursing and Rehab Center.
Alfred Blanchard, son of Daisy Faye (Kinkennon) and Robert Leroy Blanchard was born July 21, 1920 in Panora, IA. Alfred attended Creston schools.
Alfred married Lucille (Johnson) on November 18, 1945 in Creston, Ia. After marriage they lived in Creston and surrounding area for the rest of their lives.
Alfred worked on a garbage route, Hills McCanna and Puralator doing other general labor work. Alfred retired in 1980. After his retirement he became an avid fisherman and auction attendor.
Alfred is survived by daughter Connie (husband Dennis) Viether of Stanberry, Mo.; a son Robert Blanchard (significant other Carol Roberts) both of Creston; a sister Irene Overholser of Afton; three grand children; two step grand children; three great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille in 1983; his parents; two brothers Allen and Bert Blanchard, a half brother Luther Keller; six sisters Marie Perry, Margaret Harden, Myrtle Allen, Mildred Cochran, May Coy and Bertha Wiley.
