Mr. McDonald retired from Consolidated Industries, where he was a welder. He had also worked at the former Essex Wire. He attended Pentecostal Church of God, and was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Bobbie R. McDonald of Lafayette and Freddie R. McDonald, Jr. of Kokomo; five daughters, Patricia A. Ramey (husband Coy), Janie Griffith, Rae Dean Bunch (husband Joe), B. Liz Weger, all of Lafayette, and Frieda J. Ames of Kirkland. Services are Tuesday in Lafayette.
