Major League Baseball Player. He was a pitcher for fifteen seasons (1960 to 1974) with the Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, Seattle Pilots, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, California Angels and San Francisco Giants. His best year was in 1963 when he won 20 games and was named to the American League All Star Team. On April 30, 1967, Barber pitched a combined no-hit game along with Stu Miller against the Detroit Tigers. However, he lost the game with base on balls and a wild pitch that would lead to the winning run for Detroit. In 466 career games, Barber won 121 and lost 106 with a lifetime 3.36 ERA. He died of complications from pneumonia.
