Karen Sue Bowman (Kinney), 61, of Olympia, died Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Saint Peters Hospital due to complications suffered from a stroke. She was born February 14, 1951, in Olympia, Washington, the daughter of Carl Eugene Kinney and Robin Felicia Kinney.

Karen graduated from Rochester High School in Rochester, Washington with the class of 1969. On June 14, 1986 she was united in marriage to Donald Dean Bowman Sr. in Tumwater. In 1973 Karen started work for Galloping Gertie's Restaurant in Tillicum as a Server/Cook/Jack of All Trades and continued to work there off and on for the last forty years. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, crafts, pottery, reading and spending time with her friends, family and children.

She is survived by her husband Donald D. Bowman of Olympia; Her mother Robin Felicia Kinney; six children, Joelseph (Joey) Peery of Vashon, Carrie-Anne (Sissy) Ellingwood of Danforth, Maine, Carla (CJ) Jean Murphy of Olympia, Tonia Lynn Cairns of Augusta, Kansas, Trisha (BubbleGum) Ann Mayhew/Bowman of Derby Center, Vermont, and Windy Rose Bowman of Stroudsburg Pennsylvania;10 grandchildren, Kaleigh Anna Costello, Ana` Elian Peery, Olivia Marie Peery, Abel Alaniz, John Gordan Mayhew Jr, Trisha Marrie Mayhew, Emma Lee Rose Mayhew, Katie Lea Cairns, Jessica Lynn Cairns, and Brittney Michelle Cairns; 4 brothers, Bob, Preston, Donald, and James(Art); and 4 sisters, Carmen, Lyla, Lucy, and Barbara.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Dean Bowman Jr., her father, and a brother, William (Bill) Kinney.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 25 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mills & Mills Funeral Home 5725 Littlerock Rd SW Tumwater, WA 98512
