OBITUARY--Died February 1, 1900, Samuel Boerstler age 77 years, 2 months and 22 days. The deceased was born in Lancaster county, PA November 9, 1822 and moved to Ohio in 1826. Went to Indiana where he married Margaret Cronk May 10, 1857. He moved to Iowa in 1867 and from there he came to Kansas in 1869, settling near Chanute where he had lived ever since.
He leaves a wife, four daughters, a son, three sisters and three brothers and a host of friends to mourn his death. He was a man of many good qualities and was a good husband and father and a good neighbor.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Stafford of Chanute at the residence of the deceased at 12 o'clock on February 2nd, after which the remains were followed by a large concourse of people to the Chapel Cemetery (Greenwood).
