Rosaline A. Whipple, Age 90, of Manistee, formerly of Muskegon, died Tuesday afternoon, December 23, 2014 at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility. She was born on September 25, 1924 in Missaukee County, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Paul S. and Christina (Snyder) Newburn. She was a graduate of the Merritt Agricultural High School with the class of 1943. Rosaline married Doyle E. Whipple on April 9, 1943 in Kalkaska County, Michigan. He preceded her in death on October 14, 1993. She had been employed for twenty years with the Duffy Mott Company in Ravenna, Michigan until her retirement. She is a member of the Church of the Brethren of Muskegon and Onekama. She is a member of the church choir and had been a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the Egelston Township Fire Department Auxiliary and was a past president of the Bates School Parent Teachers Association. She is survived by two daughters: Janice Shermeta of Muskegon, MI. and Kathleen Whipple of Manistee, MI.; 18 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Connie Westdorp of McBain, MI. and Cora Theisen of North Port, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. She was preceded in death by two sons Lynn and Stephan L. Whipple, two sisters Pauline Burns and Blanche Fekaris and by her grandson Scott Whipple. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of the Manistee County Medical Care Facility with Reverend Francis Townsend officiating. The family will receive friends at the chapel on Monday one hour prior to the funeral service. Graveside Services and burial will take place at 2:00 PM at the Lake City Cemetery in Lake City, Michigan. A memorial will be established in Rosaline's name for the Manistee County Medical Care Facility. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and will be available at the service on Monday. The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
