Elbert Nichols Spence 90 of Springfield formerly of Mansfield, MO passed away at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 in Springfield Skilled Care Center.

Elbert was born May 3, 1916 in Mansfield, MO to James E. and Birdie (Lea) Spence.

He is survived by his daughter, Catherine Spence Calley and her husband David of Springfield; two grandchildren, Cory Dean Calley of Springfield and Amanda Lea Calley of St. Louis, MO; 3 sisters, Dorothy Sutton and her husband Bill of Chillicothe, MO., Betty Smith of Lyons, KS, and Eunice Harland of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday Feb. 4, 2007 in Hensley Cemetery in Mansfield, MO with Chaplain Paul Stanek officiating under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street. No visitation is planned.
