Laureda G. Anderson (Lebanon)
April 30, 1924 - April 5, 2017

Laureda Gertrude Anderson, daughter of Walter Monroe and Eula Miller Matthews, was born April 30, 1924, in Southard, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, April 5, 2017, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-two years, eleven months, and five days.

On November 11, 1944, she was united in marriage to Emmett Rufus Anderson, and to this union two sons were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bill, Jewell, and an infant; and five sisters, Neva, Stella, Erna, Verna, and an infant.

Laureda is survived by her husband, Emmett, of the home; two sons, Donald Anderson, and his wife, Connie, and Lonnie Anderson, and his wife, Jane, all of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Julie Warren, and her husband, Steve, Jeffrey Anderson, and his wife, Stacie, Lisa Cromer, and her husband, Jamie, and Scott Anderson, and his wife, Angela; ten great-grandchildren, Eric, Chandler, Keaton, Sydnee, Chase, Pearson, Caden, Jamison, Graceson, and Allie; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

She was born and raised in the Nebo community. After she and Emmett were married, they made their home in the Plato area, and made yearly trips to the State of Washington where both of them worked in a cannery for seven years. They then moved to a farm near Nebo, and lovingly began raising their sons. In 1960, the family moved into Lebanon for a few years before purchasing property on the Gasconade River near Falcon, Missouri, where they lived for thirty-seven years. Laureda was a devoted homemaker to her family and also was a civil service employee at Fort Leonard Wood for a number of years, retiring in 1976. About three years ago, Laureda and Emmett moved back into Lebanon and made their home.

Laureda made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was an active member of Pine Creek Baptist Church. She was involved in many capacities within the church including being a Sunday school teacher and the church pianist.

She greatly enjoyed fishing, and also liked to do piece work, crafts, and making quilts. She was very musically inclined and played the piano and mandolin. She, Emmitt, and their son, Donnie, used to play Bluegrass Gospel music in area churches for several years. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Laureda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend.

We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her ninety-two years.
