WOODVILLE (Sp) - Hugh Boyd Downing, 32, of Port Neches, died in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont at 6 p. m.
Thursday after an illness of about a year.
A native of Arkansas, he was reared in Colmesneil. He was a graduate of Colmesneil High School and served in the Armed Services during the Korean Conflict. He was an employee of the Texaco refinery at Port Arthur.
He lived in Nederland about six years and made his home in Port Neches the past three months. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, one son, Kyle Ray Downing, one daughter, Kimberly Kay Downing, all of Port Neches; his mother, Mrs. Albertie Downing a Colmesneil, three sisters, Mrs. Eura Paregien of Kit Carson, CO, Mrs. F. W. Ripley of Nederland, and Mrs. R. A. Jernigan of Doucette, and two brothers, George S. Downing of Colmesneil, and Joseph M. Downing of Beaumont.
Funeral rites will be at 2 p. m. Sunday in Bethany Baptist Church near Colmesneil. The Rev. M. L. Smith, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be the Bethany Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Woodville.
