She was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Roodhouse, the daughter of Lee and Erma Ballard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jean and a brother.
Jane was a longtime member of United Evangelical Methodist Church, Bloomington, where she was very active, also serving as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She worked for State Farm Insurance for 45 years, finally retiring in 1989. Jane was an avid shopper, and often could be found with her sister, Jean, at Eastland Mall every Saturday. Jane was excited to finally see her beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series last fall. She also enjoyed yoga and listening to WJBC radio. She also loved spending time with her family.
Jane is survived by those she considered her “second family,” including Kim (Liz) Pool; Marty, Chris, and Sarah Pool; Kelsey Martin; Kayla Pool; Desiree Bennett; Christopher “Junior” Pool; Lilliana Reynolds; and Elianna Harris.
