Montcalm, WV- Pauline Pennington Rose, age 91, of Montcalm, passed away Friday October 24, 2008 at the home of her daughter. Born July 3, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Emery Preston Pennington and Delia Perdue Pennington Dillon. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Henry Rose; sons; Alva Wayne, Edward Lee, and James Ralph Rose; grandsons, Thomas Christian, Jimmy and Randy Rose; sisters Euva Mae Pennington, Bertie Alice Gillespie, and Edna Gordon; and brothers Oakley, Bernard and Joseph Pennington.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Shirley Lucado of Montcalm, Glenda O'Dell of Maryland and Darlene Creel and her husband Steve of South Carolina, and son Jesse Eugene Rose and wife Linda of Rock; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and one half-sister, Ruth Eidson of North Carolina.
Services will be held on Monday October 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Mercer Funeral Home of Bluefield with the Reverend Ryan Lawrence, Jr. and Russell Gordon officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Vencile Perkins, Robert Vaughn, Lonnie Pennington, Tracy Lane, Don Perkins and Teddy Warden will serve as pallbearers.
